This year, we are part of a coalition of schools promoting safety on our school buses.
National Bus Safety Week was October 21-24, but safety is SO important, our transportation team wanted to keep the message going a little bit longer.
Our bus drivers’ number one priority is safety and they care deeply about protecting the students.
Here’s how you can help.
DRIVERS: Please DO NOT PASS a bus when the red lights are flashing. This is the time when students are getting on or off the bus and they are at their most vulnerable. Safety means stop.
PARENTS: Please be out of the car and standing at the bus stop when your student is either getting on or off the bus. You provide an extra layer of protection for a young person who may not be able to navigate traffic safely.
STUDENTS: Please put your cell phones and other devices away while waiting at the bus stop and riding the bus. Being present and paying attention is essential for your safety!
EVERYONE: Please take this opportunity to refresh yourself on our Bus Safety Rules. These are the ways our bus drivers keep our students safe, and also the ways the students can help them with that responsibility.
On behalf of our bus drivers…
THANK YOU!
